The Hannah Grimes Center has received a $10,000 grant from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation to help present the Radically Rural Summit in September, 2019.
Hosted by the Hannah Grimes Center for Entrepreneurship and The Keene Sentinel, the Radically Rural Summit is a two-day event that brings together people who are passionate about creating vibrant, robust rural communities, and are eager to learn, connect, and lead change.
This is an important and powerful show of support for Radically Rural, and what we are trying to achieve! The driving motivation behind Radically Rural is to begin to reverse the growing disparity between urban and rural by creating a forum for the great ideas and solutions that are bubbling up in rural regions around the country, and by making connections between the amazing people behind these ideas.
“The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation recognizes the essential role of education and entrepreneurship in empowering all people to shape their futures, create vibrant communities, and grow an inclusive economy,” said Mary Ann Kristiansen, executive director of the Hannah Grimes Center. “We are excited for their support for an event that clearly struck a chord in its first year — attracting 544 attendees from 21 states and from rural communities that have not felt included in the economic growth of the nation.”
This year’s event, held in several venues across downtown Keene, NH, Sept. 19 and 20, will feature six program tracks — Arts and Culture, Community Journalism, Entrepreneurship, Main Street, Working Lands, and Renewable Energy.
With an asset base of approximately $2 billion, The Kauffman Foundation strives to have a national impact and global reach by working together with communities around the country to create opportunities and connect people to the tools they need to shape their futures and be successful.
