Join 800 other rural leaders, thinkers, and doers on September 19 and 20 for Radically Rural!
Broad shifts in demographics, communications, technology, economic development, and personal values are generating creative responses from innovative thinkers, change-makers, entrepreneurs, and community-builders who love their towns and know their advantages. Come and learn what they are doing.
Radically Rural is an annual two-day summit that brings together hundreds of people who are passionate about creating vibrant, robust rural communities. This year, the Summit boasts 19 engaging sessions offered across the six program tracks – Arts & Culture, Community Journalism, Entrepreneurship, Main Street, Renewable Energy, and Working Lands – including a keynoted closing session for all tracks.
The Summit’s opening features a keynote address by Wendy Guillies, President and CEO of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, before attendees spill from the historic Colonial Theatre onto Keene’s quintessential New England Main Street. The Summit’s events will take place in eight locations surrounding Main Street, from the Old Courthouse to Keene State College’s Centennial Alumni Hall.
The Summit includes the highly attended networking event CONNECT2019: What’s Next! This year, a display of installations featuring innovative solutions to rural challenges will take center stage. Once again, CONNECT is staged by Machina Arts, an art-inspired event curator, and catered by CC&D’s Kitchen Market, a Keene-based market and catering business focused on creatively using locally-sourced food.
