Radically Rural Solutions Slam
Radically Rural is always looking for great ideas about how individuals, businesses and institutions are making small cities and towns more livable. Our annual Livability Slam is one place that we showcase these ideas. Previously, we have opened submissions to organizations and individuals from across rural America to send us videos describing their ideas, programs, or initiatives. After years of working with these organizations and individuals, we have come to the conclusion that videos take time and personnel to produce that many great rural communities don’t have. In 2023, we made some changes to the Livability Slam and rebranded it to the Solutions Slam.
We want you to share your solutions this year at Radically Rural. Whether it’s an idea, an initiative, a program, or something else. If it’s solving a rural issue, we want to know about it. Whether you are in the idea stage or have been running a successful program for decades, share your work with us! All you have to do is show up! We will bring the mic right to folks in their seats and give each person one minute to share their solution before moving on to the next great idea. The crowd will vote on the best idea, sending the winner home with a $500 prize to put towards their initiative. A sign up sheet will be available at our registration table all day September 25th.

- What is your organization doing to better your community?
- What have you learned that you want other rural communities to know about?
- What’s working in your community?
- Who have you impacted positively?
- Can your rural solutions be replicated?
We hope that this new approach will reduce barriers so that those of us too busy doing the good work to stop and talk about it can share in real time to a fun, friendly, and cheering crowd of fellow innovators!
