Radically Rural Livability Slam
Radically Rural, our summit focused on ways to improve life in small cities and towns, is looking for great ideas about how individuals, businesses and institutions are making small cities and towns more livable.
We are seeking 10 to 12 innovative approaches to solving local problems, all to be presented at our closing session of this year’s summit. We are recruiting ideas from the sectors that the summit presents: community journalism, arts and culture, land use, entrepreneurship, downtowns, healthcare and clean energy.
This is the second year of the Livability Slam and will take place at The Colonial Showroom at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 23.
If you are part of an initiative that has led to an improved quality of community life, ranging from physical betterments to social improvement or anything that has elevated a town’s livability, we’d like to know about it.
Those interested in participating are asked to videotape their ideas and send links to event organizers via a digital form on the Radically Rural website. The videos will be shown at the conclusion of Radically Rural.
Lively presentations of no more than five minutes are requested and should illustrate how an innovative idea had an impact on a community. Attendees will appreciate creativity, brevity and humor. Simply present the idea, talk about its goal and the results, but don’t forget to do so with style and flair!
